The most important milestones of the Wichtel Akademie
The Wichtel Akademie München was founded in February 2010. We initially started with three daycare centers and 23 employees. Find out here how we have developed since then.
| 2010 | Foundation | Foundation of the Wichtel Akademie München with three daycare centers in Fürstenried, Schwabing and Sendling and 23 employees. |
| 2011 | The Wichtel Akademie München is growing | February 2011 saw the opening of the new crèche at the Biederstein site in Schwabing near the English Garden. This was followed in November by the crèche in Harlaching an der Isar. |
| 2012 | Bilingual education at the Wichtel Akademie | In May 2012, the Wichtel Akademie expanded its childcare offering and introduced the bilingual concept. Three more crèches in Obersendling, Neuhausen and Trudering opened their doors that year. |
| 2014 | Expansion of kindergarten places | In September, the Wichtel Akademie expanded its offering at the Trudering, Laim, Sendling-Westpark and Fürstenried locations - with two Spanish groups. |
| 2015 | Wichtel and miniMUCs grow together | On April 1, 2015, Wichtel Akademie München took over the four daycare centers of miniMUCs GmbH in Pasing, Hadern-Süd, Harlaching Mitte and Parkstadt Schwabing. The Wichtel family thus grew from 255 to 385 employees. |
| 2017 | Expansion of the bilingual offering | In July 2017, the Wichtel Akademie took over the crèche and kindergarten of GesKin GmbH. In fall 2017, the Wichtel Akademie opened a new location in the Nymphenburg district - for the first time with a French group. The Wichtel Akademie currently has 23 daycare locations in Munich. |
| 2018 | Three new daycare centers expand the Wichtel network | In 2018, the Wichtel Akademie opened two new daycare centers in Lehel and Hadern. Near Vaterstetten, it took over the Pusteblume children's home run by Diakonie in Baldham in 2018. From 2019, the children and educational staff moved together to the Wichtel Akademie's new premises at Fasanenhof, Spatzenweg 12, in Vaterstetten. |
| 2019 | New daycare center location in Munich Großhadern | In 2019, the Wichtel Akademie opened a new daycare center location in Munich Großhadern. |
| 2020 | The Wichtel Akademie becomes part of the Babilou family and Cornelia Möhrlen takes over as Managing Director | Wichtel Akademie München GmbH became part of Babilou Family Deutschland GmbH on March 1, 2020. Patrick Smague retired from the Wichtel Akademie and handed over the management to Cornelia Möhrlen. |
| 2021 | New daycare center in Munich's Westpark an der Westendstraße | In spring 2021, we moved twice: The newly built Westpark an der Westendstraße location was opened in Tübingerstraße and the administration moved to Herzog-Wilhelm-Straße 26. In the summer, we opened another daycare center with crèche and kindergarten groups at the Westkreuz location. |
| 2022 | New daycare center location in Nymphenburg-Schlosspark | The daycare center at the Nymphenburg-Schlosspark site opened in summer 2022. The spacious building is surrounded by a beautiful, large garden that makes children's hearts beat faster. Nadine Loidl took over the management of Wichtel Akademie München GmbH on July 1, 2022. |
| 2023 | New management of the Wichtel Akademie | On October 1, 2023, Konstantin Bosch took over the management of the Wichtel Akademie München GmbH. |
